Roku 'no signal' on HDMI? How to fix it
'No signal' means the TV isn't receiving anything on that HDMI input. With a Roku streaming stick or box, it's nearly always a connection or power issue — not a dead device.
Fixes to try, in order
- Make sure the TV is set to the exact HDMI input the Roku is plugged into (HDMI 1, 2, 3…).
- Reseat the Roku firmly in the HDMI port, or try a different port.
- Power the Roku from its included adapter into a wall outlet — a TV USB port often can't supply enough power, which causes signal dropouts.
- Power cycle: unplug the Roku for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Try a different HDMI cable, and use the included HDMI extender if the stick is cramped behind the TV.
FAQ
- Why does my Roku say no signal after it was working?
- The most common causes are the TV switching to the wrong input and under-powering from a USB port. Confirm the input and use the wall adapter for power.
