Roku remote blinking green light? How to fix it

A blinking green light on a Roku voice/enhanced remote means one thing: it's searching for a Roku to pair with and hasn't found it. It usually starts after a battery change, a power blip, or on a brand-new replacement remote.

The reliable pairing fix

1. Take the batteries out of the remote.
2. With the TV on, unplug it (or the streaming player) from power and wait about 30 seconds.
3. Plug it back in and wait for the home screen to load.
4. Put the batteries back in — fresh ones if they're old — and the remote should re-pair automatically.
5. If it doesn't, hold the pairing button in the battery compartment for ~5 seconds until it re-pairs.

If it still blinks

• Weak batteries are the most common cause — swap in a new pair.
• Reset the remote: remove batteries, press every button twice, then reinsert and pair again.
