Roku TV won't turn on? How to fix it
When a Roku TV won't turn on at all, the culprit is most often power delivery or the remote — not the panel itself. Try these in order.
Fixes to try
- Press the physical power button on the TV (back or bottom) — this rules out a dead remote.
- Power cycle: unplug the TV for 60 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a power strip or surge protector), then try again.
- Check the power indicator light — if it's off entirely, test the outlet and cable; if it's on but the screen is black, see the black-screen fixes.
- For a streaming player, make sure it's using its included power adapter — a TV's USB port often can't supply enough power.
- If the TV powers on but the remote doesn't work, control it from the Roly app while you sort out the remote.
