How to turn on a Roku TV without the remote

A missing remote doesn't mean you're stuck staring at a black screen. There are three reliable ways to turn a Roku TV on without it.

1. Use the button on the TV

Almost every Roku TV has a physical power button. It's usually on the back panel, underneath the center of the screen, or along a bottom edge — sometimes a small joystick you press in. One press powers the TV on.

2. Use your phone

1. Put your phone on the same Wi-Fi network as the Roku TV.
2. Open the Roly app — it finds the TV and connects.
3. Once the TV is on, use your phone as a full remote from then on.

3. Let another device wake it (HDMI-CEC)

If a device like a game console or soundbar is connected by HDMI and 1-Touch Play (HDMI-CEC) is enabled, powering that device on can wake the TV and switch to its input automatically.
