How to restart a Roku TV (3 ways)
A restart clears temporary glitches without erasing anything — it's the first thing to try when a Roku freezes, buffers, or acts strangely. A restart is not a factory reset; your channels and settings stay put.
From the settings menu
- Press Home on the remote.
- Go to Settings › System › Power.
- Select System restart, then Restart.
From your phone

By power cycling (when it's frozen)
