How to set a sleep timer on a Roku TV
A sleep timer powers the Roku off automatically after a chosen amount of time. Set it and drift off without wasting electricity.
From the settings menu
- Press Home, then go to Settings › System › Time › Sleep timer.
- Pick a duration (for example 30 minutes, 1 hour, or up to 3 hours).
- The Roku counts down and turns off on its own.
The quick way while watching
On a Roku TV you can also press the Star/Options button during playback and set the Sleep timer from there, without leaving your show.
FAQ
- Does the sleep timer repeat every night?
- No — it's a one-time countdown you set when you need it. For a recurring shut-off, use the TV's automatic power-saving options under Settings › System › Power.
