How to rename your Roku and its inputs
Renaming your Roku makes it easy to pick the right one in the Roly app when you have more than one, and renaming HDMI inputs keeps your home screen tidy.
Rename the Roku device
- Sign in at my.roku.com and open My streaming devices & TVs, or use Settings › System › Advanced system settings › Device name on the Roku itself where available.
- Choose a preset name (like 'Living Room TV') or type a custom one.
- Save — the new name appears in the Roly app's device list.
Rename an HDMI input
On a Roku TV home screen, highlight the input tile (e.g. HDMI 1), press the Star/Options button, and choose Rename input — pick something like 'Xbox' or 'Blu-ray' so you always know what's plugged in.
FAQ
- Why rename my Roku?
- If you have several Rokus, clear names ('Bedroom', 'Living Room') make it obvious which one you're connecting to in the app — no more controlling the wrong TV.
