How to connect Roly to your Roku TV
Roly finds your Roku automatically over Wi-Fi — there's no code to type and no account to create. Here's how to connect, and what to try if your Roku doesn't appear right away.
Connect in 4 steps
- Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi network your Roku uses.
- Open Roly and let it scan — nearby Roku devices appear in a list.
- Tap your Roku's name to connect. The name matches the one shown under Settings › System › About on the Roku.
- Start controlling your TV. Roly remembers the device for next time.
If your Roku doesn't show up
- Confirm the phone and Roku are on the same network — not a separate guest or 5GHz-only network.
- On the Roku, open Settings › System › Advanced system settings › Control by mobile apps and make sure Network access is set to Default or Permissive.
- Restart your Roku (Settings › System › Power › System restart) and pull to refresh in Roly.
- Some routers block local device discovery with "AP/client isolation" — turn that off in your router settings if it's on.
FAQ
- Why can't Roly find my Roku?
- The most common cause is the phone and Roku being on different networks. Also check that "Control by mobile apps" network access is enabled on the Roku and that your router isn't isolating wireless clients.
- Do I need to pair or enter a code?
- No. Roly discovers your Roku on the local network automatically — just tap the device name to connect.
