How to use headphones with a Roku voice remote
Certain Roku voice remotes (like the Voice Remote Pro) include a 3.5mm headphone jack on the side for private listening — no phone or setup needed. Here's how to tell and how to use it.
If your remote has the jack
- Look for a small round 3.5mm port on the side of the remote.
- Plug in any standard wired headphones.
- The Roku audio routes to your headphones automatically and the TV speakers mute.
If it doesn't (use your phone instead)
Most Roku remotes don't have a headphone jack — but private listening still works through the Roly app. Connect the app, plug in or pair headphones with your phone, and tap Headphones mode. That works on essentially any Roku and with AirPods too.
