How to cast YouTube to a Roku
YouTube on Roku supports casting, so you can queue videos on your phone and play them on the big screen. Both devices just need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
Cast from your phone
- Make sure the YouTube channel is installed on your Roku and both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the YouTube app on your phone and start (or open) a video.
- Tap the Cast icon (a screen with wavy lines) and choose your Roku from the list.
- The video plays on the TV; your phone becomes the remote for play, pause, and queue.
If the cast icon doesn't show
- Confirm both devices are on the exact same network (not a guest network).
- Open the YouTube channel on the Roku once, then try again.
- Restart the YouTube app on your phone, or reboot the Roku.
